Dr. Elizabeth H. Sims-Day
ND | Naturopathic Medicine Associate
Dr. Day serves a broad patient population with her unique clinical skill set that quite naturally evolved from her longtime career as a molecular biotechnologist working on The Human Genome and Human Gut Microbiome Projects. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Washington, she devoted 16+ years of service to her alma mater as a professional research scientist in various fields of health science which includes experience in pathology, pharmacology, medical genetics, microbiology and infectious disease before earning her doctorate of naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University (Kenmore, WA). While attending the American Association of Naturopathic Medicine’s 30th Year Anniversary Conference, in 2015, she met one of her most influential mentors, the late renowned Dr. Walter Crinnion, ND., through whom she obtained post-graduate certification training in the field of Environmental Medicine, which is a calling of expertise that she maintains tremendous enthusiasm for and continues to pursue ever advanced knowledge on an ongoing basis.
Prior to joining the Purity team, Dr. Day served on clinical staff at two other very successful integrative healthcare practices within the context of a highly specialized functional endocrinology niche where she offered environmental medicine, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, medically guided weight loss, IV nutrient therapy services and other nutritional, diet/lifestyle detox strategies.
The passion to meet each patient precisely wherever they are currently at along their healthcare journey in full consideration of the many complex factors, nature/genetics plus nurture/environment, that affect dynamic health status in order to identify the best possible paths forward to success with respect to optimizing health and wellbeing is what perpetually motivates Dr. Day to reject the concept of merely meeting the status quo in favor of a more meaningful, results-oriented therapeutic alliance that actually nourishes and cultivates individual robustness toward achieving/maintaining highest personal potential.
As your wellness companion, Dr. Day will advocate on your behalf, striving to uphold the best scientific evidence-informed standards of conventional medical care while maintaining sight of the fact that our inherent being naturally possesses a remarkable resilience and intelligence that should be trusted and fully supported rather than second-guessed and suppressed.
Dr. Day, a native Washingtonian who was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest is an avid outdoor enthusiast that delights in exploring hiking trails to study the exquisitely diverse and fascinating flora and fauna of this spectacular region. As a member of the National Audubon Society, she takes advantage of any given opportunity to meander off into the forest with either a pair of binoculars or a magnifying glass in order to enjoy bird-watching or foraging for wild mushrooms which are a two of her favorite pastimes.
