Craniosacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation
Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on technique designed to release tension in the craniosacral system, which includes the cranial bones, central nervous system, and sacrum. This therapy can support profound relaxation, reduced stress, improve sleep, and provide relief from conditions exacerbated by chronic tension, such as migraines, TMJ dysfunction, anxiety, etc. CST fosters balance in the body, allowing it to recover, repair, and maintain optimal function.
Visceral manipulation focuses on the health and mobility of the body’s internal organs (viscera) and their surrounding connective tissues. This therapy helps to restore normal motion and function through light touch, thus improving conditions such as digestive disorders, abdominal pain, post-surgical adhesions, and chronic inflammation. VM also helps to calm the parasympathetic nervous system (often referred to as the "rest and digest" system) and enhances the body's ability to adapt and self-regulate.
CST and VM are often done in combination with each other, as they are similar therapies for different areas of the body. Sometimes Dr. Seley integrates homeopathic remedies and flower essences into her CST and VM practice. People often leave the session with a sense of calm.
If you’re dealing with chronic pain, tension, digestive issues, or other health concerns, please make an appointment with Dr. Seley for these specialized services. Both craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation can often be billed to insurance.
